Dave emailed to the group on 9/1:

All:
I have a request from the University of Sioux Falls to teach a
Learning Institute Workshop next spring. The prelimnary title is
Photography for Digital Users. The class would be 6-10 pm on Friday
night and 8-6 on Saturday, just one weekend. You would need to put a
proposal together for the class and suggest some possible dates. They
are looking for a response by Thursday of next week. The instructor
needs to have at least a Bachelor’s degree. If anyone is interested
please let me know very quickly and I will give you the proposal
information and the compensation level.

First meeting of the camera club year.

For our September program, David Graham will give a program about reading and using Histograms to improve your photos. We will also have several members give brief presentations entitled “What I Shot on my Summer Vacation”. Don’t forget to get your N4C entries to Steve Thompson (see Newsletter for details).

Dues are due this month.

Palisades trek canceled

Some of you may have heard rumors about a SFCC photo trek and potluck at Palisades on July 25th.

I’m sorry to report that due to several unexpected conflicts, that activity has been cancelled.

We’ll let you know if anything else comes up.

This is the date for our Annual Spring Banquet. It will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Pizza Ranch near 41st and Kiwanis. Bring your family for some great food and even better company!

Our May program will be something a little bit different. After viewing the results of the April competition, we will embark on a Club Scavenger Hunt. Instructions and theme assignments will be handed out at the meeting. See Roger’s program description in the newsletter.

4/24 Photo Walk

Meet at the Raven Industries parking lot, 205 E. 6th street at 3 p.m. on Saturday, the 24th of April.

We will be strolling through downtown to take photos. Dave says he expects to be done by 5 p.m., although anyone wanting to stay longer is more than welcome.

Just an FYI. I’m receiving several entries via the club email and some in Dropbox. I don’t remember what instructions we’d had for this competition. So I left the old instructions up on the competition page. I’m forwarding any entries to Keith. Just so y’all know.
